Santa Barbara StoryLab, operated by Central Coast StoryLab, a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-4502171), is committed to making our website and our studio accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of our mission: we help nonprofits reach their communities, and that only works if everyone can take part.

Standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

What we have done

Accessibility of what we produce

Captions and transcripts make podcasts usable by people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and they help everyone else too. We encourage every organization we work with to include them, and we can supply transcripts as part of a session's deliverables. Talk to us when you plan your session so we can build it into the schedule.

Studio accessibility

Our studio is located at 19 E Canon Perdido St, Suite B, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. If you have questions about physical access, parking, seating, or anything you need in order to record comfortably, contact us before your session and we will tell you what the space can accommodate and make arrangements where we can.

Known limitations

We are a small organization and this site is a work in progress. Some older embedded media may lack full captions, and some third-party content we link to is outside our control. We fix accessibility issues as we find them, and reports from visitors are the fastest way for us to find them.

Tell us about a problem

If you run into a barrier on this site or in our studio, please tell us. Describe the page or situation, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using, if any. We aim to respond within five business days.
